Zatrang || winter festival || Labrang || Kinnaur

The month of Maang has a special importance since long time in our tribe. This month is referred as a holy month. In this month our deity leaves for heavenly abode and after few days our deity Sh.Chakoling Dombar returns backs to earth . From next day our winter festivals starts. Maahang saangha is the first festival celebrated and zatrang is celebrated. Kwakcha and Dheerkhyam festivals are also celebrated. In our village winter festivals are celebrated with lot of joy and happiness. In this video I have shared festival of zatrang. Traditional dresses are worn by men and women both . Traditional folk song and traditional dance form Shon is performed in our Pikhaang khyam. Shon dance form is the oldest dance form in kinnaur. This dance form is done in the anti-clockwise direction led by chieftain who held a white yak tail .
