Death Head Buttons, the ultimate goth accessory.

I made these buttons to decorate a coat I had bought from a theatre sale, to make it look more historical despite it not actually being made for a particular era. I adore making these thread wrapped buttons whether they are for use in 18th and early 19th century costume or as just a way of creating a contrasting or matching button for your own clothes. There are lots of resources available for making these buttons including a very brief history DeVere Yarns, which I rabbit on about for about two minutes https://www.devereyarns.co.uk https://thepragmaticcostumer.wordpres... A pretty list of links to paintings and garments with them here http://www.larsdatter.com/18c/deaths-... blog posts with step by step instructions https://fabricnfiction.com/2018/02/12... Vincent Briggs has made a much more detailed and beautiful video on making deaths head buttons and you can watch that here.    • 18th Century Death's Head Buttons [CC]   Also Videos and suppliers of materials.
