Is THIS Europe's Fine Wine Frontier? | Alentejo, Portugal
This travel-log doc follows Wine Folly's, Madeline Puckette, and teammate David, riding bikes through Alentejo, Portugal on the hunt for great wines. Unexpected discoveries find them as they traverse the region looking for liquid gold. In this video, we follow along as Puckette makes new discoveries, including rare Portuguese grape varieties and ancient winemaking methods that are still used today. All the while, Madeline and David are riding bikes through the region. Cycling presents challenges due to the region's rugged and hot terrain. The cycling becomes a way to experience the terroir firsthand, and understand how the climate and landscape have shaped the wines and the people. The result ends up being remarkable and noteworthy, including a high level of sustainability that Puckette doesn't see practiced in the United States.
