Cattleya Orchid Repotting to Pure Perlite in a Self Watering Pot

Today's video is an experiment that I wanted to make for a while, so I went ahead and did a Cattleya orchid repotting to pure perlite in a self watering pot with a wick. This orchid was already potted in pure perlite. I had bought in the past orchids potted in perlite and I always wonder how this works. My cattleya memoria anna balmores did not had all that many roots, but I cleaned off the rotted roots and spray her with hydrogen peroxide 3%. The self watering pot was recived from www.gradinar.ro to test out, and so far, this is my favourite pot! Ok, so here is my opinion on the TWIN Orchid 1.3W Violet Self-Watering Pot The Santino Orchidea 'TWIN self-watering pot is made up of two pots: an inner pot with drainage holes, which provides the optimal hydration and oxygenation of the roots and an outer pot that retains the water as a reservoir, in my case, for semi hydro. Also, the pot has a transparent window to control and check the water level in the pot and a watering wick to ensure the optimal humidity of the roots. The benefits of the wick are great! Firstly, you will need to water less often, because the reservoir contains much more water than if it would have inside the reservoir the leca beads and roots as well. Then, the roots stay constantly moist as the wick sistem transfers water from the reservoir to the leca and roots. They have much more aeration and less chances to rot. If you want to provide a winter rest to the orchid, this will be much easier. If you have a rootless orchid, you can just make a very tall reservoir to encourage root growth and lower it as the roots get longer and longer. And the list can just continue... My congratulations to the producer of this pot. One single word I have for you A.M.A.I.Z.I.N.G. !! Being made of high quality synthetic material, the pot is easy to clean and maintain, being resistant in time. The wide variety of colors make them easy to integrate into any type of decoration. Mine had the folowing specifications: Height: 150 mm, Diameter: 125 mm, Volume: 1.3 liters Only one suggestion I have: please, design this pot in bigger sizes as well! ★☆★ LEARN MORE ABOUT GROWING ORCHIDS ★☆★ ► Fusarium wilt on orchids - biology, symptoms, management and chemical control http://amzn.to/2vxTgOV ► How to clone orchids using keiki paste ► Use this code '' miracleorchids '' to get it for 0.99$ ► https://gumroad.com/l/ZWcEB ► Botrytis Petal Blight on orchids - how to prevent it from ruining your orchid flowers ► https://www.amazon.com/Botrytis-Petal... ► Recommended seller ★ https://secretgarden.ro ★☆★ FOLLOW ME BELOW: ★☆★ Facebook ► /MiracleOrchids1010 Google + ►/+MiracleOrchids1010 Twitter ► /Mircale_Orchids ★☆★ CHECK OUT THIS VIDEOS ★☆★ ► Phalaenopsis care ► https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBHIj... ► How to save orchids ► https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5e94... ► Miltoniopsis ► https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VNv4... ► Cattleya ► https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4G2F... #orchid #cattleya #repot #MiracleOrchids #SelfWateringPot #Orchids ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "Orchids In Bloom & In Spike - October 2018"    • Orchids In Bloom & In Spike - October 2018   ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
