Morbific - Ominous Seep of Putridity [Full Album - 2021]

"Ominous Seep of Putridity" is the repulsive and nauseating debut album from the Finnish rotheads Morbific. Opening a dictionary I wouldn't find enough words to describe how foul or heinous this album is, but that doesn't matter since my IQ dropped after I finished listening to it so I wouldn't know how to read anyway. Trully disgusting from start to finish, with a range of influences from Autopsy to Incantation to Anatomia to Cerebral Rot - it has them all. Skank savagery from the underworld, mixing our good old nasty death metal with despicable death/doom vomits, and the balance between the parts is perfect. The album opens up with extremely crushing songs, closer to their death/doom side, then gradually pumps up the energy until you reach the middle of the album, where they bring out their full hate and unpack a couple of songs at full speed right in your face. The album surely culminates in the last 3 tracks, where Morbific pushes to the extreme all the range of all their sounds, going full death/doom just to unexpectedly change into double bass skank beats and fast riffs. This all leads to one of the best climaxes for 2021 in the last track. Sheesh, I wish I knew how to properly write so I could do this album justice, but I'll never be able to. Fucking hell, I've been following the band since their 1st EP in 2020. There were sick back then, but shit they got even better as time passed. Undoubtedly a high point for 2021, a must on your shelves and an album that has to be in your AOTY lists. Spread the fucking vomit.
