I went to Daikiya Hiyoshi, a Iekei-style ramen shop located near Hiyoshi Station in Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City. I ordered the smoked char siu ramen (regular size). This is a hearty Iekei-style ramen shop located very close to Hiyoshi Station. The rich pork bone and soy sauce broth is topped with noodles, seaweed, spinach, and a substantial piece of smoked char siu. Unlike regular char siu ramen, the addition of smoke gives it an extra punch, characteristic of Iekei-style ramen. The highlights this time were definitely the smoked char siu and the free rice. You can wrap the rice in the seaweed soaked in the soup, or eat it with the char siu. It's packed with all the ways to enjoy Iekei-style ramen. And, for the first time, I tried customizing the rice with "unlimited garlic x chopped ginger x mayonnaise"! I tried it as it was recommended on the menu, and it was incredibly delicious! I regret not doing this sooner...
