Promoting interoperability between Brazilian and US troops is the main objective of the Combined Exercise CORE 21, which involves approximately 1,000 Brazilian and US Army personnel in an Airmobile Operation passing through the cities of Lorena and Cachoeira Paulista, both in São Paulo, and Resende, in Rio de Janeiro. CORE 21 is the first combined exercise carried out by US troops in Latin America and is led by a task force from the 5th Light Infantry Battalion (5th BIL), based in Lorena, São Paulo, incorporating a Marine Company from the US Army's 101st Air Assault Division. #CORE #BrazilianArmy #Army
