☀️ Southport Fell Walking Club | Braithwaite, Coledale & Newlands Valley | Lake District Hiking One of the hottest days of the year made for an unforgettable day in the Lake District as Southport Fell Walking Club returned to Braithwaite for another fantastic programme of walks. Despite an unexpected coach air-conditioning failure (thankfully solved with a replacement coach from Don Fraser Coaches at Tebay Services), members enjoyed eight led walks ranging from gentle lakeside strolls to demanding mountain adventures. This video features walks across some of the finest scenery in the North Western Fells, including: 🏔️ Grasmoor 🏔️ Grisedale Pike 🏔️ Causey Pike 🏔️ Cat Bells 🏔️ Crag Hill (Eel Crag) 🌊 Derwentwater ⛏️ Force Crag Mine Other routes explored Sail, Scar Crags, Barf, Lords Seat, Whinlatter Forest, Coledale Hause and the beautiful Newlands Valley, with spectacular views stretching to the Isle of Man, the Solway Firth and the Scottish hills. Whether tackling the classic Coledale Horseshoe, scrambling on Causey Pike, enjoying a peaceful circuit of Derwentwater or taking in the history of Force Crag Mine, every group was rewarded with glorious sunshine, crystal-clear visibility and some of the best walking conditions of the year.
