1939 Triumph 14/60 Dolomite Saloon - Now Sold by Robin Lawton Vintage & Classic Cars

Just arrived at the garage 1939 Triumph 14/60 Dolomite Saloon One of the most striking designs of its period, the late 1930s Triumph Dolomite epitomized the glamourous art deco influence that had become a desirable feature of automotive design. The ‘waterfall’ grille was styled by Walter Belgrove and was a most distinctive feature. The interior was sumptuously appointed with quality hide upholstery and all equipment was to the highest standards. Specification of the 14/60 model included a 1.8 litre overhead valve engine with twin SU carburettors, synchromesh gearbox, hydraulic braking system and automatic chassis lubrication.  Standard features also included twin horns and long-range spot lamps. From the mid-1930s, Triumph Motor Company motor cars competed in the market with Riley and MG. This example was registered in 1940.  There is extensive history including photographic evidence of the restoration work which was carried out around 20 years ago by specialists ‘Gloria Coachworks’ and copy invoices confirming considerable expenditure. There is also a copy of the original maintenance manual, and detailed history of her ownership. Presented in very smart two-tone blue livery with dark blue leather upholstery, this car is a joy to behold.
