Gov. Kathy Hochul is enacting a first-in-the-nation moratorium on large-scale data centers. Hochul signed an executive order Tuesday morning that will pause the permitting process for up to a year in order to more closely examine the environmental impacts of data centers and to create new regulatory standards.
