You Know What Sucks: Cable TV (Remake)

You all knew this one was coming! Everyone here is familiar with cable TV by now and their scummy business tactics, so might as well revisit this one and discuss it again. This time around, there's more background info about the rise and fall of the medium and why most people switched to streaming and internet only. I decided to go ahead and redo the first episode of the YKWS series on my channel because I wasn't pleased with the original version and the narrations and audio mixing were terrible. I also wanted to add some new details and frustrations regarding cable and elaborate on a few topics such as carriage disputes and breach of privacy. All the faults and annoyances that led to the downfall are explained in this rant, everything from the price hikes to carriage disputes! The worst aspect of all has to be the price gouging and all the hidden fees and surprises. The average cable bill is around $150 these days and it's just not worth it, plain and simple. The cable providers basically shot themselves in the foot, what did they think was gonna happen? Cable TV (in the US at least) is slowly dying, we all know it's on life support and there's no way around it. Once streaming became a viable option in the 2010's, it was all downhill from there. Why pay hundreds of dollars for commercials and let the time dictate what can be watched? You can now watch what you want when you want, where you want (for the most part), so pay TV became more redundant as time went on. Did I forget to mention the horrendous customer service? Not just streaming services, but the internet itself with all the VOD options and video sharing sites such as YouTube and Twitch pretty much rendered cable obsolete. Even over-the-air (antenna) TV ended up making a comeback! Despite everything, I still think the concept of cable TV in of itself is a neat novelty. Happy 4th of July!
