Great Dun Fell – the highest paved road in the UK, climbing up to 2,750ft through the wild North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Known as the highest road in England, this iconic climb is on many riders' bucket lists – and for good reason. It's 5 miles of traffic-free road cycling heaven, where the 25% gradients sting, the weather tests you, and the views (when they appear!) are unforgettable. This climb is featured in Simon Warren's "Another 100 Greatest Climbs", and it’s one of my personal favourites after riding hundreds of steep hills across Britain.
