Have you ever failed to keep your word or promise? Can God do that? In the Bible, God is presented as a person who does what He promised. But there are examples when He said and did not do it. Why can this happen? The Bible says: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord." (Isaiah 55:8) No one can know God's thoughts. But the example of the story of Nineveh, as well as situations from the Gospels, show that God can cancel His word only if a person repented and goes to Him. Then He blesses the person instead of punishing him. If you are in difficulties, do not think that God has forgotten you and does not keep His promises, but seek Him: "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near."
