Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce im fahrdynamischen Test! 280PS / 340Nm & mech. Diff - reicht das?!
Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce – Driving Dynamics in the Electric Age Electric cars and driving pleasure – for many, these two things still don't quite go together. Too quiet, too smooth, too focused on efficiency. In this test, I deliberately approached the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce from a driving dynamics perspective. Not so much to reiterate performance figures, but to explore whether and how it's still possible to generate genuine driving pleasure with an electric car today. And the answer is clearer than you might expect. In the Stellantis universe, the technical foundation is predetermined. Platform, architecture, many components – all of that is defined. This makes the question of what a brand makes of it all the more interesting, how it can still honor its existing heritage despite the group's platform strategy. Alfa Romeo is trying to address precisely this with the Junior Veloce. Not through sheer power, but through character, both visually and in terms of driving dynamics. 280 hp and 345 Nm are just the starting point. Add to that a mechanical limited-slip differential on the front axle, a body lowered by 25 mm, a firmer suspension setup, and more direct steering—all these are essentially classic driving dynamics measures that have been deliberately implemented. And you can definitely feel it. The Veloce doesn't drive like a typical, sanitized electric SUV. It demands more, but it also gives more back. The front axle works, the car can be positioned precisely, and accelerating out of a corner creates exactly that feeling that is often missing in the current market. At the same time, it remains a modern electric car for everyday use. In urban environments, consumption figures of around 13–14 kWh/100 km are quite possible. If you drive it sportily, energy consumption increases accordingly—which is hardly surprising. Or to put it another way: Fun comes at a price. Even with electric vehicles. It also has a certain visual appeal, as it tries to stand out within the group's lineup, even if it is naturally limited by the platform. Visually, however, it is, in my opinion, one of the more attractive models in Alfa Romeo's portfolio, alongside the Giulia. ``` 📊 Technical Data – Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce Power: 280 hp (207 kW) Torque: 345 Nm Drive: Front-wheel drive (FWD) 0–100 km/h: 5.9 s Top speed: 200 km/h Battery: 54 kWh (approx. 51 kWh net) Architecture: 400 volts Range (WLTP): approx. 315–334 km DC charging: up to 100 kW AC charging: 11 kW Chassis: Sport suspension, lowered by 25 mm Differential: Mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential Wheels/Tires: 20 inches, 225/40 R20 Front brakes: approx. 380 mm, internally ventilated, 4-piston Classification The Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce clearly demonstrates that driving pleasure also It's possible in the electric age, even if it's difficult to create true differentiation within a platform strategy. Alfa Romeo succeeds here, at least in some aspects, both visually and in terms of driving dynamics. And that's precisely what makes the Junior Veloce interesting.
