-13°C SOLO Summit Camp On HELVELLYN

This is easily the coldest conditions i have ever camped in. Left alone on the summit, i was definitively a little on edge (literally). With the howling winds being a constant reminder of the harsh environment t i was in through out the night, only made the sunrise that little bit sweeter. Winter is upon us, which can be a beautiful yet dangerous time of the year to head up into the fells. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE THE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EQUIPMENT TO DO SO SAFELY. We have awesome teams of Mountain Rescue and Fell top assessors that help keep the fells safer for us, but you never want to find yourself in a situation where you have to call them out to help, so please, always stay safe in the mountains.
