To close this 12-part tragic odyssey, Track 12 unleashes a colossal, ten-minute Epic Symphonic Power Metal Masterpiece that chronicles the legendary, breathtaking death of Cú Chulainn. Confronted by a massive coalition of enemies orchestrated by Queen Medb, Cú Chulainn is systematically destroyed by his broken Geasa (sacred taboos). He is tricked into eating dog meat—breaking his taboo of eating his namesake—and forced into situations that shatter his supernatural protections. Mortally wounded by a magic spear that pierces his abdomen, his intestines spill onto the earth. Yet, even facing absolute expiration, the Hound of Ulster refuses to die on his knees or collapse in the dirt. Dragging his broken body to a pillar stone on the plain of Muirtheimne, he uses his own war belt to tie himself upright to the rock. He confronts his enemies standing tall, sword in hand, facing his death on his own terms. For three days, his enemies cower in fear, terrified to approach his upright body, believing he is still alive. It is only when The Morrígan, fulfilling her dark game, lands on his shoulder in the form of a black raven, that the world realizes the great champion has finally passed into myth. This finale transforms absolute destruction into an immortal anthem of defiance, declaring that while the flesh may perish, the spirit of the brave remains forever unbowed. 📜 Lyrics He was Sétanta… child of light. He became Cú Chulainn… the Hound of Ulster. Trained by Scáthach, bearer of the Gáe Bolga. He stood alone against armies… He became the fury of the Ríastrad… He killed his brother Ferdiad at the ford of blood… Now… the geasa are broken. And fate has come to claim its due. Three times warned by shadowed cries Three dark signs before his eyes Yet still he walks the fatal ground Where death and honor now are bound The cursed meal, the broken vow The gods have turned their faces now Each step he takes, the end draws near No path remains, no shield from fear Níl éalú ann… (There is no escape…) An deireadh tagtha… (The end has come…) Stand and fight, though life runs dry No fear left beneath the sky Éirinn calls your final stand Sword in heart and stone in hand Bound to the earth, you will not fall Even in death, you stand for all Champion’s cry will never fade In blood and iron, your legend is made! Surrounded by a sea of steel Still his enemies dare not deal For even broken, even torn He stands as if no death was sworn A spear, a wound, the final breath Yet still he will not yield to death He binds himself against the stone To face the end… but not alone Fuil! Fuil! Éirinn go brách! (Blood! Blood! Ireland forever!) Stand and fight, let thunder break Every breath the last you take Éirinn burns within your veins Through endless war, through endless pain Bound to the stone, defy the grave No chains on earth can bind the brave Even in death, your spirit roars A king of war forevermore! Fuil ar an gcloch… (Blood on the stone…) Tost na hoíche… (Silence of the night…) Tie me here… I will not fall… Let them see… I gave it all… Stand and fight… your name remains Carved in time, beyond the pain Éirinn weeps but still you stand A silent guard upon the land! The battle fades, the cries are gone The night embraces what lives on No clash of steel, no war remains Only the wind across the plains Codladh sámh… a laoch… (Sleep peacefully... o hero...) He never fell. 💿 Album Info Album: Hound of Ulaidh Artist/Channel: The Fionn's Cradle Track: 12 / 12 (The Immortal Pillar) Musical Style: Monumental Epic Symphonic Power Metal.
