Why Leveling Still Matters in World of Warcraft

Leveling in World of Warcraft still matters, and I think the game loses something when people act like it is just an obstacle before the “real” content begins. Whether it is Classic, Retail, questing through old zones, or queueing dungeons on a new character, leveling is a huge part of what makes WoW feel like an actual world instead of just a hub where you stand around waiting for the next raid, dungeon, or PvP match. It gives your character a journey, keeps you moving through the world, and makes progression feel like more than just numbers going up. In this video, I talk about why leveling still matters in WoW, why I’ve always enjoyed it across different versions of the game, and why I think WoW is at its best when it feels like a world you move through rather than a game you rush through. Do you still enjoy leveling in WoW, or is it just something you try to get done as fast as possible?
