Mappila Paattu or Mappila Song is a genre of Muslim folklore rendered in colloquial dialect, which is very popular in the Northern part of Kerala. Mappila songs have a distinct cultural identity, while at the same time, remain closely linked to the cultural practices of Kerala. These songs use words from Persian, Urdu, Tamil, Hindi apart from Arabic and Malayalam. The show is currently anchored by Lakshmi and judged by Sajila Salim, Shabnam Riyaz and Firoz Babu.
