Repairing a Lost Cause? PC Engine Revisited

Another chance to repair this lost cause? Huge thanks to PCBWay for sponsoring this video. Check them out here: https://www.pcbway.com/ I am returning to a PC Engine that was previously diagnosed with a faulty C6280 CPU. With a replacement CPU supplied by Cosam, I attempt the delicate surface-mount replacement required to get this console working again, carefully insulating the board to protect the fragile flat flex cable from heat damage. After completing the CPU swap, I perform a full recap of the motherboard and thoroughly clean the pins and cartridge slot to resolve a few intermittent reading issues with an EverDrive. Once this PC Engine is fully rebuilt and paired with a controller, it will be raffled off to raise funds for The Befriending Scheme. ───────────────────────────── If you'd like to help keep the lights on (and the tools plugged in), my Patreon is the best way to do it.
