Cycling Normandy and Seine Episode 1 (2024): Amsterdam to Ypres
In August and September 2024, we cycled the Opal and Normandy coast and then cycled the Seine River to Paris. We were surprised by the beauty and rural landscape of the coast. This is part 1 in the Normandy & Seine cycling adventure 22nd to 25th August. Why do we ride bicycles in France for our holidays? It is a lot of work planning our route and booking our accommodation but the rewards have been immense. And why France? France is relatively safe for cyclists, the food is fabulous, and the people are friendly. Also, Craig has been learning to speak French for a few years, and he loves practicing. Our story began in 2023, when we cycled the Eurovelo 19 through France, Belgium and the Netherlands. The quiet and slower pace, the adventure and challenges, gave us the experience that we craved.
