Sixty crews, eight of them in VAZ cars, came to compete in the final stage at Pushkin Hills. This impressive field of competitors for a Russian rally is due not only to the excellent roads but also to the unique scoring system at the final stage: the overall winner receives 600 points (10 times more than at any other stage), and 500 points in the two-wheel drive categories, which automatically equates to victory in the Cup. With four preliminary runs, a crew can compete for the Russian Cup (this rule only applies to the first drivers). The 2021 Pushkin Hills Rally was marked by the overall victory of the Denis Rostilov/Dmitry Lebedik crew, who won all the special stages. The race ended with unpleasant retirements for several competitors: Dmitry Voronov damaged his suspension, Kirill Ermakovich, David Sulkin, and Alexander Sakadanov retired on stage 2, Andrey Zvagolsky crashed on stage 3, Alexander Donetsk also stopped there due to gearbox problems, Andrey Oleynikov retired on stage 4, Vladimir Vasiliev damaged the radiator in his new Skoda Fabia R5 after an unsuccessful jump, and Alexey Mironov, the Cup leader who won four races in the Ural stages, retired on stage 5 due to a radiator problem.
