Bèsame Mucho for Brass Quintet #brassquintet #trumpet #horn #trombone #tuba #Beatles #Velázquez

Bésame Mucho (Kiss me a lot) is a romantic ballad written in 1940 by a 16-year-old Mexican songwriter Consuelo Velázquez-who reportedly hadn’t yet been kissed! It was first recorded by Emilio Tuero and later translated to English and performed by Sunny Skylar. The Beatles played this on their ill-fated audition for Decca Records on January 1st, 1962. This brass quintet arrangement follows the Beatles rendition with liberties in the melodies which are passed around the group to feature each player. The style is Latin fused with a rock beat. Running time is about 2 ½ minutes. It is short, sweet and an unusual addition to a performance.
