This edition of Toyotatimes News is a special edition. We'll be reporting on the "MUSIC WAY PROJECT," a collaborative project between CEIPA (Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association) and the Toyota Group, and the "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN" music festival. "Japanese cars are driven all over the world. There's nothing more fulfilling than being able to help bring artists to the world." The "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN WEEK" was held from June 5th to 13th. During this period, "SONG BRIDGE 2026," held over three days, was the third co-writing camp (co-writing: a collaborative songwriting method by multiple creators, exploring new musical possibilities by combining diverse perspectives and ideas) following those held in Kyoto in May and Tokyo in December of last year. 14 artists and 30 creators from 11 countries participated. They seemed to inspire each other, with comments such as, "This way of creating might be right for me," and "I'm looking forward to a new chemical reaction." On the final day, at the awards ceremony held at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO (Koto Ward), the artists walking the red carpet expressed their hopes for the initiative to spread music from Japan to the world. Chairman Akio Toyoda also appeared as a presenter in the "BEST GLOBAL HIT FROM JAPAN" category, and praised the winners with his opening remarks. The motto of the "MUSIC WAY PROJECT" is "Japanese music will drive the world." Moving forward, efforts will be made to create spaces and cultivate people to spread Japanese music in various places around the world.
