Jean Chery Dormeus led—until his arrest this Wednesday—two entities: a travel agency currently under investigation for migrant smuggling, criminal association, and money laundering; and, simultaneously, an NGO that received over 50 million pesos from the Chilean government. Its donors? The Metropolitan Regional Government and the Ministry of the Interior, under the administrations of Sebastián Piñera and Gabriel Boric. This Thursday, he will face justice for illegally bringing children and adults into the country.
