According to Ghetto Minister, the NPP’s political decline began long before recent events and, in his view, was sealed the moment Dr. Bawumia was selected as the party’s running mate. He further alleges that unresolved issues surrounding governance, accountability, and corruption continue to damage public confidence in the party. A major focus of the discussion is former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and the ongoing legal and investigative processes surrounding his tenure in office. Ken Ofori-Atta is currently facing multiple corruption and corruption-related allegations under investigations led by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). These matters reportedly involve procurement concerns, alleged abuse of public office, and claims of financial loss to the state linked to major public-sector transactions. Among the issues under investigation are: • The Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) contracts, where authorities are examining revenue assurance arrangements and related financial commitments. • The National Cathedral project, including procurement processes and financial disbursements connected to the initiative. • The ambulance procurement agreement involving Service Ghana Auto Group Limited and the acquisition and maintenance of ambulances. • The ECG–BXC matter concerning the termination of a distribution loss reduction agreement. • Management and disbursement procedures connected to the Ghana Revenue Authority’s Tax Refund Account. Ghetto Minister argues that accountability must remain central to Ghana’s democracy and contends that if these matters are not fully addressed through lawful processes, public trust in the NPP could continue to decline. Ken Ofori-Atta has denied wrongdoing and maintains that actions against him are politically motivated.
