Introduction As we study the Book of Revelation in depth, we painfully realize how dangerous our complacent attitude toward salvation is. The Lord promised that those who overcome will be clothed in white robes, and their names will not be erased from the Book of Life (Rev. 3:5). Conversely, this is a stern warning that those who fail to win the spiritual battle and compromise with sin may have their names erased from the Book of Life and be cast out outside the New Jerusalem. In order to approach the Tree of Life and enter the holy gates, we must become those who wash their robes—that is, those who thoroughly repent (Rev. 22:14). However, this process of repentance is by no means easy. This is because evil spirits deeply rooted within our flesh stop at nothing to hinder us from repenting and entering Heaven. Sometimes they weigh us down with extreme drowsiness, and sometimes with unbearable physical pain. Nevertheless, we can never give up on this spiritual battle. This is because the only thing given for free is the atonement of the cross, and the glorious status and holiness in Heaven are won solely through the tears and sweat of repentance we shed. Now, let us delve deeply into the spiritual reasons why repentance must go beyond mere reflection and become a way of life in our daily lives, as well as the secrets of that practical battle. 2. What is the fatal misconception of the modern church that regards justification by faith as the completion of salvation? ... 3. You must hang before the cross with a do-or-die resolve to put an end to the enemy, the devil, who has seized control of your flesh and your family—that it is either you or me who dies. However, you do not need to worry too much, as you yourself will not die while repenting in this way. Nevertheless, if you feel like you are going to die, say, "If I die while repenting, I am a martyr," and "Before you kill me, kill the Jesus within me first, and then kill me." My family (Pastor Jeong Bo-bae) was also in deep spiritual bondage, stained by ancestral rites and the idolatry of Buddhism. As a head family that performed many ancestral rites and one of the few noble families possessing the Samgangmun, a tremendous spiritual influence had entered my head. Consequently, by the time I was in high school, I reached a point where I could no longer memorize English words due to headaches. I cannot describe how disheartened I was at that moment. Furthermore, due to eating too much food from ancestral rites, my stomach broke down twice; I vomited up every last bit of liquid in my stomach and had to be rushed to the emergency room. And despite all the effort put into trying to open my spiritual eyes, the process remains slow. This is because so many spirits had entered my body. Especially when I was young and sick, my mother would wrap rice in a cloth, place it against my head, and then pull it away while chanting a certain incantation (an act known as "feeding leftovers").
