Transpiration: causes, nature, anomalies et traitements (30-22)

Sweating, the production of sweat, is a mechanism that allows us to control our body temperature. There are two types of sweat glands. The first type, eccrine glands, primarily produce water, salt, and lactic acid. It is the evaporation of sweat that allows the body to cool down. Abnormalities in this production are insufficient sweating, or anhidrosis, and excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis. It should be noted that sweat is odorless in its normal state. The absence of sweat makes individuals more sensitive to heat, while excessive sweating may require treatment, as it can be a source of social embarrassment. Finally, excessive sweating can be a sign of certain medical conditions.
