The Plottier House: An Urban Paradise It belonged to the city's founder. It faces the Limay River and overlooks a natural lagoon. It has nine bedrooms, five bathrooms, two kitchens, and a living-dining room with large windows. On the banks of the Limay River, facing a natural lagoon and surrounded by lush trees, stands an architectural gem from the last century. This is the mansion of Dr. Alberto Plottier, founder of the city that bears his name. Today it is a historical monument and has been converted into a museum. Plottier and his two brothers arrived in the area in 1907 and purchased 13,000 hectares that would later become the foundation of the town. Aware of the benefits of the river, the doctor commissioned the construction of his own residence there, in a prime location. For the project, architects, workers, and materials arrived from Europe and Buenos Aires. Plottier didn't do things by halves. The design she envisioned for her home was stately, and she followed the plans meticulously to bring it to life. Its architecture is reminiscent of old European buildings. It features nine large bedrooms, five bathrooms, two kitchens, a living and dining room with expansive windows, and staff quarters. A gallery surrounds half of the building and is adorned with fine masonry details, from which wrought iron lanterns hang. “Even the laundry sinks are covered with hand-painted tiles,” she added.
