Kayaking through Horseshoe bend - Colorado River
This video is about our kayaking adventure in marble canyon on the Colorado River. Our plan was to kayak 15 miles from the Glen Canyon Dam through horseshoe bend then back Lee’s ferry. So the way to do it is that you rent the kayaks and a guide service takes you on a boat up river the 15 miles close to the Glen Canyon Dam then they drop you and your kayaks and your gear off. At that point you are on your own and you can then kayak back to Lee’s ferry. We did it in two days splitting it up into 4 miles the first day. then camping on a beach and then kayaking the remaining 11 miles on the second day. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes per mile, so overall from the dam back to the boat dock it’s about 6 to 7 hours. We did like 2 hours on the first day and like four to five hours on the morning of the second day. The water was relatively calm. There was no rough water. It was a very easy float type of kayaking. We had such a good time. It is such a beautiful ride that is well worth it I recommend it to all #arizona #kayak #kayaking #horseshoeoverlook #horseshoebend #coloradoriver
