Mixed Media Mark Making Session: Holbein Gouache, Faber Castell, and Kingart

In today’s video, I’m continuing to fill one of my Bare Spine Beauty journals from class with two layered mixed media abstract pages inspired by color palettes from The Color Cube. I used the same palette on both pages but shifted the dominant color on each painting to see how the palette behaves when the color roles change. To add extra visual interest inside the book, I taped off the abstracts in two different sizes, which instantly gave the spread a stronger composition. Along the way I’m building lots of texture and mark making with Holbein gouache, Kingart gel crayons, Faber-Castell Black Collection pencils, Kuretake Gold Mica ink, and Posca pens. If you love abstract art, color palette play, and satisfying layers, come create with me. Check out the Bare Spine Beauty Art Journal workshop on my site: https://2lilowls.com/product/bare-spi...
