Worlebury Camp; Weston-super-Mare's Iron Age Hillfort - with County Archaeologist, Cat Lodge
County Archaeologist, Cat Lodge takes us on a tour of Worlebury Camp, an Iron Age Hillfort in Weston-super-Mare. This multivallate hillfort is a Scheduled Monument and an amazing example of a defensive structure that was in use over 2000 years ago. Over the centuries, the area has seen many changes and work is currently being undertaken to see what more can be learnt about the site and it's previous inhabitants, as well as what work can be done to preserve it. Excavations on the site have uncovered a variety of interesting, beautiful and even grisly artefacts, many of which are now on display in nearby Weston Museum.
