I found this interesting review of the song online: "Lang is making full use of his unorthodox drum set configuration, incorporating Rata Toms, Gong drum, multi-pedal orchestrations and complex layers of rhythms in his groove design. The song starts in 7/4 but evolves through various time-signatures with beat displacement and superimposed signatures. Based on a 3 over 4 polyrhythm, the pre-chorus- and chorus sections are built around a melodic descending phrase played over four Rata Toms with the feet filling in groups of 2 notes bridging pedals, and 4-stroke rolls between Gong Drum/Snare Drum accents, marking the down-and up-beats of the superimposed time signature. In the guitar-solo sections, Lang superimposes 3 over 4 in a sequence of 4/4 and 7/8 time signatures while executing a polyrhythmic, melodic left hand pattern over 4 Rata Toms, downbeats on his Gong Drum and a challenging, mixed note-rate foot-pattern which is orchestrated over his kick drum and double-HiHat pedals, creating a complex masterpiece of a contemporary beat design. This is a truly innovative approach to modern drumming and a complete departure from the traditional perception of what a "drum part" should sound like."
