The Romance of supporting Argentina's Oldest Club | Quilmes AC | Los Cerveceros de Quilmes

The city of Quilmes is 20 km south of Buenos Aires and is best known for its world famous brewery. The Quilmes Atlético Club (QAC) football club was founded in 1887 and is the oldest football club in Argentina. Today the QAC is considered an "elevator team", but despite the misery, the supporters stay loyal. With flags, drums and vocal support, they turn the curve into a madhouse week after week. In the film, the fans - the so-called cerveceros (beer brewers) - express their passion and love for their club and present a view into the soul of Argentine football. The film is a joint project by Andreas Geipel, Franz Sickinger and Shooresh Fezoni. Nominated for the German Reporter Award 2011 in the category "Best Web Reportage". Nominated for the Axel Springer Prize 2012.
