A defender of the Russian land and Russian Orthodoxy, he often remained misunderstood and unrecognized in his homeland and the Church. But, as many believe, today's rebirth of Russia and the Russian people is impossible without the revelation that Nikolai Alexandrovich left us. And overcoming the crisis of Christianity and Orthodoxy is unlikely to occur without assimilating the experience of individuality and conciliarity, the gifts of freedom and creativity, to the discovery and understanding of which this Russian exile dedicated his righteous life.
