I'm out. Leaving tech behind forever.
In 2023 after around ~6 months grinding it out and interviewing to land a senior software engineering job, I got laid off after only 6 months at the job. This was the last straw that broke the camel's back. I'm done with software engineering and the tech industry. I'm out and here is my 5 reasons. 0:00 - 0:57 - reason #1: not passionate 0:58 - 3:21 - reason #2: day-to-day 3:22- 4:27 - reason #3: job market & demoralizing interview process 4:28 - 5:52 - reason #4: burn-out 5:53 - 7:05 - reason #5: not my strength
