The story of Ruth ep. 2 - Gathering grain

Upon arriving in Israel, Ruth and Naomi faced a challenging and uncertain future. In their society, the status of a widow was particularly vulnerable, often leaving women without financial support or social standing. With no husband or sons to provide for them, the two women found themselves in a precarious situation. Despite the hardships they encountered, Ruth chose to take an active role in their survival. She demonstrated remarkable loyalty and resilience by seeking ways to sustain herself and Naomi. In an effort to provide for them, Ruth decided to glean leftover grain in the fields after the harvest, a practice allowed for the poor and marginalized. Her hard work did not go unnoticed. Boaz, a wealthy and respected landowner, saw Ruth's dedication and diligence in the fields. His attention and eventual kindness toward Ruth would become a pivotal moment in their lives, setting the stage for a relationship that would alter their fate.
