Rimettere a nuovo una Rolleiflex 2.8 F del 1960

Refurbishing a 1960s Rolleiflex 2.8 F Those who work with analog cameras often use machines that were manufactured thirty, sixty, or ninety years ago. The complicated mechanisms can fail, and the cameras, alas, can fall. But few people know that these cameras, whose mechanisms are greased and lubricated at the factory, can suffer deterioration over time, until the camera stops self-lubricating and more serious problems arise, such as wear and tear on the mechanisms. For this reason, it's advisable to contact a photo repairer, not only when the camera, for whatever reason, stops working, but also for periodic and routine maintenance, usually every five years, regardless of the number of rolls of film used. We spent an afternoon with a skilled Italian camera repairman, Sandro Presta, to whom we entrusted a Rolleiflex with the self-timer system jammed. During disassembly, it turned out to be completely dry in terms of lubrication and grease, and with a significant misalignment of the lens assembly. In addition to thanking Sandro Presta for dedicating hours of his precious and unique time to us, I want to use this video to "warn" my viewers that, as I explained, there's not just repair, but also the essential overhaul of a camera. If you regularly service your car every so many kilometers or for so long, consider the same "!!!" approach to your cameras as well. As always, the video is quite long. For your own benefit, I ask you to watch it all the way through to truly understand what lies beneath the innocent skin of a Rolleiflex, a camera equipped with sophisticated yet highly complicated mechanics. Enjoy the viewing, everyone.
