Welcome to Mariefields Farmstay The World’s First Organic Permaculture Farm created by Bill Mollison We have expanded on Bill’s organic permaculture concept with environmental protection as our priority. Mariefields has been developed in conjunction with the existing permaculture infrastructure by -expanding organic food forests -growing organic market gardens -mariefields bee apiary in our manuka honey plantation -orchards of pomegranates, mangoes and olives -creation of wildlife corridors -expanding dams for migrating birds -developing bird sanctuary islands -protecting native forests -planting native grasses and native trees -controlling introduced weeds and trees -fencing rainforest riparian zones along the creeks to keep cattle out -planting 4400 koala food trees in our designated koala forest We have created a strong environmental ecosystem in conjunction with organic food forests and free-range organic cattle & poultry breeding.
