Growing up, one of my favorite family traditions was going to the local Chinese buffet. We didn’t go often, but it always felt like a special occasion when we did. Buffets meant unlimited access to all the foods I rarely had access to, so I made sure to savor every bite. I can still remember the thrill of walking in, seeing the endless rows of food, and making a beeline for the golden, crispy crab rangoons. I became a bit of a crab rangoon connoisseur, always hunting for the perfect ones—crispy on the outside, creamy and savory on the inside. Now that I’m older, I still crave that nostalgic taste, but instead of heading to a buffet, I make them at home.
