Virtual Run #374 NYC | High Bridge to Hudson River Greenway Loop (99 min)

A 15 km loop around the top of Manhattan — great for the treadmill or indoor bike. We start in the Bronx, trace the Harlem River Drive south along the park, climb the stairs into the heart of High Bridge Park, cut across the island at 158th Street, and return north on the Hudson River Greenway. The run kicks off on Johnson Avenue in the Bronx and drops quickly toward the Harlem River. Once we cross into Marble Hill the route picks up the Harlem River Drive — a long, relatively car-free stretch with the Washington Bridge looming overhead and the river right beside you. It's one of those stretches that feels bigger than it looks on a map. Surface is smooth and the early-morning traffic is light. Around 6 km we duck under the Trans-Manhattan Expressway lower level and begin the climb up the staircase into High Bridge Park. High Bridge is the oldest surviving bridge in New York City, and the park gives you a real pause-worthy overlook down the Harlem River before the route cuts west across 158th Street. Once on the West Side we drop onto the Hudson River Greenway and follow the riverfront path north — past the Henry Hudson Parkway interchange and all the way back up to the Bronx side to close the loop at Independence Avenue.
