Family Simm - Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg 4k

Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg winter walk is a 5km, 2.5 hour walk that takes you through some of the most stunning scenery in the Jungfrau region including magnificent views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It is a walk we have done before and one we never get tired of doing. Unfortunately, this time due to the weather, lack of snow and loads of warm sunshine, the route had been diverted slightly and resulted us you having to climb a section of a ski run which was hard, compact snow that you could not get a good purchase on. We spent a good deal of time trying and failing to hike up this section. We were not the only people who were having issues. Thankfully, a couple with rubber and metal over shoe spikes, who we thank immensely, managed to get up the section of the hike and threw them down to us so we could use them. Without them, we would have been stuck and probably would have had to return to the start. The route itself is over all down hill but, as you would expect being in the mountains, it is up and down a lot with quote a climb at the end up to Kleine Scheidegg. Don't let this put you off though. It is one of the most spectacular walks in the area.
