He entered the organ class of Marie-Louise Langlais at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris in 1990, and received the Gold Medal in 1994. That same year, he also earned the Diplôme de Virtuosité from the Schola Cantorum in Paris (studio of Marie-Louise Langlais) as well as the Diplôme de Virtuosité at the Marcel Dupré Competition in Chartres. Further study with Michelle Leclerc at the Conservatoire de Valenciennes earned him the Diplôme de Perfectionnement in 1995. Winner of the First Prize of the UFAM, he studied harmony and improvisation with Françoise Levéchin at the Schola Cantorum, and from 1997 to 1999 did further study with Eric Lebrun at the Conservatoire National de Région de Saint-Maur. Concurrently with his post as Organist at Notre Dame de l'Espérance in Villemonble, Mr. Duperrey performs recitals in France, Germany, England and the United States. He has created several organ transcriptions, including one of Paul Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice, recorded on his CD entitled Histoire d'orgue. Mr. Duperrey has also transcribed the Toccata on the 65th Psalm, improvised by Dutch organist Klaas Jan Mulder. The series runs from March to October and each recital lasts around 45 minutes. There is no charge to attend or listen to these concerts. We rely on your support to help with the cost of maintaining the cathedral’s famous Father Willis Organ. Keeping the cathedral’s musical instruments in first-rate condition enables us to put on such recitals as you have heard today.
