Our friend Steve Schroeder (heads may remember him as our longtime merch seller and tour manager Mister Steve) recently launched a daily podcast called Everyday Joy & Pain, where he shares a story about a different song every day. On a recent episode he talked about going to see a short-lived experimental rock band from Providence called Space Needle in the ‘90s and shared their song, “Never Lonely Alone.” It’s a beautiful, sad, gentle song about the difference between solitude and loneliness, and it resonated with our mood on this, our tenth week of quarantine in Los Angeles. Everyday Joy & Pain: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast... Our city feels weird and empty, and we miss it so much. We’ve been driving around just to look at it (boarded-up stores, masked security guards, empty freeways, and bare streets). This video was made using our Macintosh Classic II—we think of it as a video painting made with vintage software and architecture, which are both (right now, at least) obsolete technologies. RIP John Baldessari, while we’re honoring lost versions of Los Angeles. Video by Claire & Jona
