モーニングルーティン #803
Finally, the day's training at Komukai Training Center is over. It seems he was more energetic than usual because Girolamo was there. After this, he'll have a shower and then free time. ◆Fukuchan merchandise is available here: → https://fukuchan-horse.stores.jp/ ★Read the "Uma-furi" series, "Fukuchan the One-Eyed Thoroughbred's PERFECT DAYS," here: → https://uma-furi.com/perfect-days/ ◆Fukuchan LINE stickers are available here: Volume 1 → https://store.line.me/stickershop/pro... This channel was created with the hope that you will follow the story of Fuku-chan, a horse born with microphthalmia, as she grows up healthy, becomes a mother, and her offspring achieve success on the racetrack—a story of dreams and hope. ★Fuku-chan's Profile Father: Taisei Legend, Dam: Dartmoor (Dyna Curl female line). Four wins in JRA races. Third place in the Empress Cup and Ladies Prelude, and fifth place in the Leopard Stakes. Her full brother is Plum de Passion, third place in the UAE Derby. Fuku-chan was born with microphthalmia, meaning she is blind in her left eye. Aside from that, she is perfectly healthy. She has long legs, a strong bone structure including her hocks and knees, and a large build. She drinks a lot of milk (to the point where her mother is sometimes overwhelmed). And for now, she has no problems and happily runs around the pasture with her mother. Even so, she cannot become a racehorse. According to JRA regulations, horses that lose sight in one eye before being registered are not allowed to be registered (however, if a horse loses sight in only one eye after being registered, it can participate in flat races). Not being able to become a racehorse means it cannot be sold at auction, there is no economic benefit for the farm to raise it, and it is usually disposed of at birth. Thoroughbreds are economic animals, commodities. That's why we rarely see horses with microphthalmia, a condition caused by a genetic quirk that occurs with a certain probability. *Later, it was discovered that at some local racecourses, if the horse passes a performance test, it can participate in races! However, everyone at Hekiun Farm wanted to raise Fuku-chan. As the owner of the broodmare, I felt exactly the same way, entrusted with the final decision. Having experienced miscarriages and infertility, and after waiting a year, I simply wanted to find a way for this foal to survive. We may be naive, and we don't know if it will be a happy ending or a bad ending, but Fuku-chan's great adventure has begun. ★Origin of the name In the past in Japan, there was a legend that children born with some kind of physical or mental disability were cherished and raised as "Fukugo" (meaning "lucky child") because they were believed to bring wealth and happiness to the family. The "Fuku" in Fuku-chan comes from that "Fukugo," and also from the "Fuku" of happiness. ◆Fuku-chan's owner Jiromaru Takayuki's X account → @glassracetrack ◆Channel of Shimomura Yuki, president of Ookaribe Farm, who supports Fuku-chan → / @ookaribefarm ◆Yumeiro Glass Channel, who made a large donation for Fuku-chan's upbringing expenses → / @夢色グラス競馬チャンネル
