Hiking Devils Tower Wyoming - Red Beds Trail

One of the best black hills hiking trails is the Red Beds Trail near Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming. Tips and advice for visiting this park and hiking this trail below. 1. Arrive before 10am. There is very little parking available, and the lots will be completely full by noon. 2. No pets are allowed on the hiking trails. 3. There is a prairie dog colony along the road right when you enter the park. Most people drive right by it and don't notice. 4. It is a violation of federal law to remove or deface any part of a national park - including rocks, flowers, plants, cultural artifacts and wildlife. Leave no trace. 5. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally happens every year during the first week of August. Unless you like crowds, noise, and waiting in line, avoid this area during that time. 6. Cell phone service is very spotty and nonexistent in many areas of the park. There is no public WiFi. 7. Entrance fee is $25 per vehicle. 8. There is a paved walking trail around the base of the tower that starts near the visitor center. This is the shortest, most popular, and most accessible trail in the park. 9.
