Alexander Dennis - TfL Bus Safety Standard Phase 2

TfL has launched Phase 2 of its Bus Safety Standard, with Alexander Dennis attending the launch event at UTAC Millbrook. The video features three Alexander Dennis electric buses, the Enviro100EV, Enviro200EV and Enviro400EV, and highlights the manufacturer’s work with Transport for London on improving safety across London’s bus network. Alexander Dennis says it has supported TfL’s Bus Safety Standard programme since 2018, with the shared aim of reducing and eliminating deaths and serious injuries on the network. One of the key technologies shown in the video is Pedestrian Advanced Emergency Braking. The system is fitted to the Enviro100EV and is designed to detect objects or people in front of the vehicle. If the driver does not detect or respond to the hazard, the vehicle can brake automatically. TfL says Alexander Dennis has been involved with the Bus Safety Standard since its launch and has supported the wider aim of improving safety for buses in London and beyond.
