Entertainer Dan Mitsu was selected as the "Eye of the Year 2014" award recipient, a prize given to women with captivating and striking eyes, and attended the awards ceremony held in Tokyo on January 20th. Regarding makeup, she said, "I try to avoid looking scary or overly edgy as much as possible," and smiled, "I choose soft colors like brown and pink." However, when asked about makeup she'd like to try, she murmured, "You can't beat the effects of aging. If the makeup goes well, I think I can do a lot of things, but it's getting harder to do with each passing year." She continued, "Today, when I asked the person who did my hair, 'How many people did you find today?' They said, 'Five or six, but that's okay.' I'm always looking for gray hair like that." The "Eye of the Year 2014" awards are sponsored by eyelash extension manufacturer Three Beauty. Four people were awarded trophies: Dan Mitsu in the talent category, and Imai Hana, Takizawa Karen, and Urahama Arisa in the model category. When asked about the "eyes that seduce a man," Dan Mitsu revealed her technique, saying, "If I stare too intently, he becomes wary, so I try to look into one eye instead of both. I don't want to give the impression that I'm trying not to let him get away!" Regarding her aspirations for 2014, which she started off on a good note with, she said, "I'll keep diligently removing the moss from the aquarium where my tropical fish live." In terms of work, she said, "I want to have more opportunities to meet with fans. I'd like to be able to hand out original merchandise at autograph sessions, like musicians do."
