Como Preparar a tu Mascota para una Endoscopia - TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel Restrepo
Twitter @juangangel Do you know how to prepare your pet for an endoscopy or what this exam is for? Endoscopy is performed to examine and take samples from the digestive tract; this means it is ideal for taking samples for gastrointestinal pathologies, removing foreign bodies, and performing minor procedures such as gastropexies. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), also called upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, oral panendoscopy, or simply gastroscopy, is a medical exam that visualizes the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. It is performed using an endoscope, a flexible tube with a movable head controlled by the operator. The tip of the tube has a video camera and a light that illuminates the examined organ. The image is transmitted to a monitor, where lesions such as ulcers, erosions, and neoplasia can be identified. Tissue samples can also be obtained during the procedure for biopsies. It is a medical procedure performed by a digestive endoscopy specialist, usually a gastroenterologist (digestive system specialist). However, other related specialties, such as digestive system surgeons, can be trained in this technique. Source https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esofago... Juan Gonzalo Angel Restrepo www.tvagro.tv
