Belleza y técnica en la Edad Media. Las deformaciones de una historia del arte caduca - Isidro Bango

Lecture given by Isidro Bango Torviso, Professor of Art History at the Autonomous University of Madrid, during the 2014-2015 annual course of the Friends of the Prado Museum Foundation: "The History of Beauty: From Phidias to Picasso." This course aims to explore the history of beauty, analyzing it through artists and works that are characteristically exemplary of this long historical process. To this end, renowned specialists in the field, both Spanish and international, have been invited. Although fulfilling this objective necessarily requires examining different periods, we believe that this overview is crucial, not only to understand the spirit of each era, but also to clearly grasp what has been considered art up to the present day and where the divergent landscape of contemporary art is heading.
