The logic collapses the moment you hold it up to light, but the Rogansphere does not require logic. It requires vibes and deniability and enough ambient chaos that no one can pin down exactly when the deal was made. The deal was made. It was made in public, over years, in front of millions of people who were told they were watching free thinkers. Tony Hinchcliffe, whatever else you want to say about him, at least cops to it. Nine minutes of crowd work in his Netflix hour. A belt buckle that will not fill the void it is meant to fill. He is exactly what he appears to be, which in the current landscape makes him the most honest man in the room. The rest of them want the access and the proximity and the photo at the house, and then they want to come back to the podcast and say they are just comedians. You are not just comedians. You are the door. You are the hand shake. You are the legitimacy the operation needed from people who were supposed to be outside of it. The White House during this administration is not the people's house. Trump and Don Jr. have said so plainly. It is their house. You went to their house. You smiled in their house. You held up the Drake chain in their house like a clown at a children's birthday party who does not understand whose birthday it is. When this is over, and it will be over, the tape will still exist. The photos will still exist. The timestamps will still exist. Every careful non-endorsement and strategic silence and I-just-didn't-like-that will be exactly as audible as it was in the moment, which is to say: not very. People remember who was in the room. They remember whose ticket got you there. They remember the dog walker and they remember the dog.
